Role Overview
Young Dental is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced role. This will be located in our Earth City, MO office and reports to the Sr. Operation Manager with limited supervision. The Warehouse Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities. This role should be able to ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations and to increase the company’s overall market share.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for management of subordinate staff including hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, associate development and enrichment, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems
  • Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including: filling and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements (technical service, vendors, etc.), ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel, filling work orders from production, packaging assemblies and receiving into finished goods, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of warehouse and receiving associates; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records and disciplines as necessary
  • Develops and tracks metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of the department
  • Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance
  • Develops and recommends annual budget requirements for the warehouse and receiving department, including forecasted personnel and equipment requirements
  • Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of lean enterprise practices; actively participates in Lean Manufacturing Activities: 5S, Continuous Improvement and Kaizen projects

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required; some college a plus
  • 3-5 years of relevant warehouse experience, including 1 or more years in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of manufacturing in a regulated environment (FDA, ISO, etc.), preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to be a self-starter, follow-through and have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing goals
  • Ability to drive team performance th rough recognition and people development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization
  • Understanding of warehouse management and cycle counting process
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and occasionally need to lift up to 40 lbs
