Role Overview
AEI/Young Innovations is looking for a Heat Treat Operator who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced role. We are willing to train interested individuals!  The Heat Treat Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation and some maintenance of our heat-treat equipment, as well as ensuring heat treat process controls are maintained and running to required parameters, daily.  This self-motivated, team player will gain experience in a fast-paced production environment, possess the ability to multi-task, learn problem solving skills, and how to work well under pressure.   

Responsibilities

• Perform and document instrument readings at required intervals

• Operate and maintain product flow

• Communicates daily with department supervision and production manager
• Loads and unloads product in the process
• Must be a team-player and actively support lean initiatives (continuous improvement)
• Ability to keep detailed daily records; have strong organizational skills; ability to learn quickly.
• Must be able to read/follow production schedules, control plans, and work instructions
• Work collectively/collaboratively with all members of organization
• Set up/operate heat treat machine using computer-controlled industrial heat treating equipment
• Understand basic concepts/methods of heating/cooling
• Load/ unload part baskets
• Perform hardness tests
• Must follow all safety requirements
• Ability to work effectively/efficiently in extremely warm temperatures
• Must be able to perform scheduled maintenances, as well as be able to identify when unexpected maintenances and repairs are required.
• Can work any shift or weekday as required
• Any other duties required by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
