Role Overview
The Product Manager owns assigned orthodontic and restorative product lines to ensure alignment with overall business strategy and market trends. The Product Manager engages with other commercial and operational leaders in the business to drive alignment to the product strategy, and executes on the initiatives and tactics needed to realize the strategy. This position reports to the Product Director of Restorative.

We are seeking a Product Manager who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced role. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage and organize complex categories of products, is detail-focused, a self-starter and able to work collaboratively with diverse teams across Marketing, Sales, QA/RA, R&D and Operations to ensure successful execution.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes all product line strategies, initiatives, and tactics with responsibility for understanding performance drivers and ensuring product lines meet financial objectives
  • Synthesize data for complex categories of products into cohesive business plans, value propositions and strategies that are easy to commercialize
  • Oversees management of product life cycles, annual pricing, identifies and executes cost reduction and SKU rationalization opportunities
  • Prepares business cases and drives new product ideas and potential private label/OEM opportunities through our stage-gate process
  • Subject matter expert responsible for identifying customer needs through executing voice of customer and other market research and relaying products’ competitive edge, features and benefits throughout the organization
  • Analyzes market and competitive trends and recommends changes to marketing and business development strategies based on analysis and feedback
  • Owns product training for respective lines and enables the organization to confidently understand and represent products externally
  • Conducts competitive reviews and analyzes category trends and maintains competitive intelligence on key products and segments
  • Partners with downstream marketing team on product positioning, branding, and content creation and reviews recommendations on downstream marketing strategies
  • Partners with sales leaders to gain and share customer insight to ensure sales efforts support developed strategies and ensure sales organization is trained as needed

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive professional experience in product or category management; experience managing global product portfolios a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus
  • Experience managing medical device products preferred
  • Expert product management skills and experience – managing product lifecycle, pricing and competitive analysis, product benchmarking, and strategic planning skills
  • Strong and effective project management skills
  • Experience proactively engaging with sales organizations on items such as sales training, sales tool development, and product messaging
  • Must possess intellectual curiosity, an ability to work with limited direction, and a desire to work in a fast-paced, meritocratic organization on diverse and challenging projects
  • Strong business and financial acumen and ability to take calculated risks based on data-driven analytics
  • Flexibility and experience with dynamic organizations in a high growth mode where acquisitions will bring new products/businesses into existing category strategies is strongly desirable
  • Strong leadership ability – driving initiatives across and through many cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers/stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; intermediate or advanced Excel skills
