Role Overview
Young Innovations is looking for an Inventory Control & Purchasing Specialist. This position Monitor stock levels of AEI products, maintain MRP system, as well as purchase supplies and raw materials for production. This position reports to the Senior Operations Manager but works closely with all Production Administrators and Accounting and assists various departments as needed. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Inventory Control

  • Monitor stock levels of AEI products
  • Backflush orders as they are finished and moved thru production areas
  • Facilitate annual inventory counting and verification
  • Work with controller to establish pricing
  • Work with Engineering to add new part codes and build engineering masters for all products

Purchasing

  • Receive and process all Purchase Orders
  • Purchase all raw materials needed for production
  • Purchase supplies needed for production
  • Seek out alternate vendors for production needs
  • Do cost comparisons between vendors
  • Evaluate vendors based on, on time delivery, quality of service provided, quality of products provided, etc
  • Ready outsourced items and ship to vendor

RELATED DUTIES:

  • Create, analyze and distribute reports and documentation as needed

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Training and Experience

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • 2+ years’ experience in inventory management or related field

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel & MS Office Suite
  • Strong math and accounting skills
  • Previous experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, balance, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Color vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
