The Benefits and Compensation Administrator is responsible for assisting in system wide analytical, technical and general support of the compensation and benefit functions.

Responsibilities

  • New hire set up, terminations, and other relevant employment changes in Payroll and Benefit systems
  • Tracks benefit costs, claims, and other benefits related data
  • Ensures integrity of enrollment data for vendor feeds, audits error reports, and monitors billing
  • Maintains knowledge of benefits and compensation laws and educates and advises HR staff on various related laws and regulations including FLSA, Affordable Care Act and COBRA as well as government mandated disclosures. Maintain basic knowledge of ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA
  • Coordinates wellness programs and open enrollment for all employees
  • Manages 401k plan, annual audit, and employee changes
  • Generates files/reports such as the EEO1, annual non-discrimination testing for benefits plans, annual reports, as well as other special and ad hoc reports as requested
  • Manage workers compensation claims while guiding HR team members and managers on best practices
  • Manage FMLA/ADA claims, inclusive of acting as liaison to employees on requests, partnering with external vendor in claim administration/resolution, and providing guidance to HR team members and managers on best practices approaches as needed
  • Provides monthly benefit and compensation reports for vendors, IT, Finance, and HR
  • Complete salary surveys and compile and analyze information for requested positions. Consults with HR staff regarding basic compensation issues and provides guidance. Completes regular and ad hoc job review and market pricing analysis. Assists in the review and adjustment of job grades/ranges.
  • Manages and administers employee performance review process while working closely with managers to ensure effectiveness Review job descriptions, assign job classifications, and price roles against market
  • Assists in acquisition integration relative to areas of focus (i.e. benefits, compensation, leave administration, etc.)
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in human resources, business administration or related field is required
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Benefits and Compensation professional
    • Multi-state experience preferred
    • Prior experience in acquisition integration a plus
  • Thorough working knowledge of HRIS and Payroll (Paycom a plus)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Good working knowledge and familiarity with Word and Power Point
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to exercise a high attention to detail
  • Proactive approach towards improving processes and systems
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and a commitment to confidentiality
  • Exceptional organizational, critical thinking, communication and project management skills required
