Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join the dynamic and highly collaborative accounting team at our Algonquin, Illinois facility. In this role you will primarily focus on efficiently coordinating Accounts Payable activities for our multiple business units and corporate entity. The position will report to the Accounting Supervisor and will work closely with the Corporate Accountant, Corporate Controller and AP/AR teams.


Responsibilities

• Review all invoices and check requests for approval, matches invoices, and determines if the proper account coding has been included in a timely fashion.
• Work closely with all business units to ensure proper processing of invoices; i.e. receiving, coding and approval.
• Review accounts payable aging and determines invoices to be paid
• Generate check/ACH runs, records manual checks and prepares necessary wire payments
• Verify and posts business transaction details to appropriate ledgers and journals
• Assist in month-end close activities by preparing account reconciliations
• Additional accounting support activities as required

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior successful experience in effectively executing accounts payable and other clerical accounting activities
• High school diploma; some college or Associate’s Degree a plus; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• High volume data entry experience
• Superior knowledge of accounts payable processes, procedures, and best practices
• High comfort level and capability with accounting systems and software as well as Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated ability to identify, elevate, and assist in the resolution of problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
