Role Overview
Microbrush International is looking for a HR Representative will provide site-based HR support to the management and staff at the Grafton manufacturing facility. This will include responsibility for coordinating and/or facilitating the execution of tasks across a wide scope of HR arenas, including but not limited to: engagement/culture, policy/procedure administration, recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, legal compliance, corrective action/performance management, training, and time/attendance maintenance. In addition, the HR representative will act as the facility’s front-desk receptionist and complete miscellaneous administrative support tasks on a recurring and as-needed basis. The HR Representative will report to the HR Director and have a dotted-line relationship to the site Plant Manager.

 

Responsibilities

  • Act as Engagement Champion for the site, including:

    • Planning, communicating, and executing employee engagement activities

    • Actively connecting with all employees as a resource/outlet for concerns or suggestions; and

    • Acting as a positive cultural influence both in the office and on the shop floor

  • Coordinate and execute on-site recruiting activity, including:

    • Posting (internal and external), sourcing, screening, and scheduling interviews for all non-exempt openings

    • Supporting the posting (internal and external), sourcing, screening, and scheduling of interviews for all exempt openings; degree of ownership will vary depending on level of position being filled

    • Partnering with staffing agencies to coordinate the placement of temps or coordinate the sourcing of direct-hire candidates

    • Managing requisitions and candidates in ATS

  • Complete onboarding and offboarding activities for hires and terms, respectively, including but not limited to: executing pre-hire process (drug tests, non-competes, etc.), completing new hire orientation and associated paperwork (including EVerify), input of data into HRIS, conducting exit interviews (and sharing outcomes), completing termination paperwork, ensuring removal from HRIS and appropriate processing of final pay, submitting unemployment responses and participating in hearings as needed

  • Act as the on-site liaison to employees regarding questions on benefits, payroll, policies/procedures, workers compensation, and leave/ADA administration

  • Conduct employee relations conversations and investigations, as needed; suggest possible solutions to HR Director

  • Assist on-site management team in first-level or routine corrective action processes, such as reviewing attendance or basic policy violation write-ups and tracking their delivery and receipt

  • Assist on-site management team and corporate HR in coordinating, completing, and tracking the annual and biweekly review processes

  • Time and Attendance: track attendance and holidays for facility; make adjustments to payroll system for missing/wrong punches; report temp hours to agencies; maintain perfect attendance list

  • Deliver recurring or ad hoc training as needed

  • Coordinate the consolidation of all records to corporate office for master filing

  • Monitor employee leaves from third-party admin and share appropriate information with necessary internal parties

  • Front desk/receptionist responsibilities, including: answering and forwarding calls, greeting and directing visitors

  • Miscellaneous administrative support responsibilities, including: scanning free goods requests received via fax, sending vendor invoices to AP, prepare physical check received for the lockbox, ordering office supplies, and stocking refreshments for visitors

  • Various HR administrative tasks, such as: maintaining accurate Job Descriptions in shared HR files; maintaining on-site HR compliance postings; activating/deactivating building access cards

  • Participating in or ownership of corporate HR projects as assigned

  • Ad hoc reporting

  • Other duties as assigned
     

     

Qualifications

Training and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree a plus

  • At least 3+ years of demonstrated success in an HR Coordinator, Specialist, or Representative capacity; manufacturing and/or distribution experience strongly preferred

  • PHR or SHRM-CP a plus

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

Knowledge of

  • HR laws (local and national)

  • FMLA/ADA administration best practices

  • Workers compensation and safety best practices

  • HR and recruiting systems

  • Recruiting and sourcing best practices, including behavioral interview techniques

  • Employee relations, corrective action, and performance management basics

Ability to

  • Partner with all levels of the organization to create a culture of positive employee relations and engagement

  • Execute the essential duties of the job capably and with minimal supervision

  • Maintain the confidentiality of employee data and conversations

Skills required

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong time management and organizational skills with superior attention to detail

  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to negotiate and influence staff and site management

  • Computer/technical skills, including: intermediate MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortability with HR and Payroll/Timekeeping systems


Physical Requirements:

Manual dexterity and ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.

Office environment and occasional exposure to manufacturing plant environment, with some abnormal variations in temperature, unavoidable fumes, noise, dust and atmospheric conditions.

Will support a multi-shift facility, therefore, schedule will vary to include at least 1 day where support lasts until 3rd shift starts (until 11pm)
