Overview
We are looking for a strong Engineering Technician to join the Microbrush team at our Grafton, Wisconsin location. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for the design, assembly, installation, and debugging of new custom automation equipment as well as improving existing production equipment.

 


Responsibilities

  • Work with automation designs and construct them according to CAD prints and/or models. Responsible for part ordering, part assembly, and corrections to issues as they occur.
  • Assist with some design and detail of smaller custom automated equipment
  • Program custom equipment and test fixtures (PLC's & HMI’s)
  • Create proper documentation related to automated equipment
  • Evaluate and select appropriate vendors for fabricated and purchased components.
  • Work with vendors to facilitate on-time delivery of quality parts within known budgets
  • Work with all departments as necessary to accomplish project commitments and company goals. Communicates progress on builds and manages needed changes.
  • Assists Maintenance Technicians in diagnosing machine issues
  • Manage new machine installation, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Ensure automation process is capable, ready, and proven prior to new product launches

 

 

Qualifications

  • A.A.S. or higher in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or other technical discipline.
  • 1yr or higher experience in automation design and/or build
  • CAD experience required (SolidWorks preferred)
  • PLC and HMI programming experience preferred
  • Ability to design electrical and pneumatic schematics preferred
  • Experience with hand tools required, experience with machining tools preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated follow through skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Must be able to modify their work schedule as needed for personnel training or scheduling change needs
  • Follow all safety and good housekeeping to maintain safe working environment
  • Occasionally lifting 50 lbs.
