Responsibilities:

Young Dental is looking to hire a QC Chemist to work the hours of 11:30am - 8:00pm to support production activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and/or test all incoming raw materials and bulk products related to product lines.
  • Inspect and analyze in-process chemical products.
  • Perform final QC tests and batch record review/ release of chemical products.
  • Perform microbiological testing for finished goods and purified water.
  • Initiate, conduct, and perform IQ, OQ, and PQ validations; stability studies; methods validations; annual product reviews; and reserve sampling for chemical products.
  • Assist with complaint investigations regarding the quality and reliability of chemical products.
  • Write, review and revise laboratory standard operating procedures, methods and controlled testing forms.
  • Assist in the development and testing of new formulas.
  • Follow all safety and good housekeeping procedures to maintain safe working environment.
  • Communicate testing status to other departments as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:
  • Knowledge of USP chemical testing preferred
  • Knowledge of 21 CFR 210/211, 21 CFR 820, and ISO 13485.
  • Familiar with chemical laboratory equipment including UV/VIS spectrophotometer, IR, potentiometer, pH meters, viscometers, and hydrometers.
  • Knowledge of performing regression analysis and chemical calculations.
  • Knowledge of General cGMP’s and cGLP’s.
  • Able to manage time effectively to ensure timelines are met.
Regularly interfaces with:
  • QA, Manufacturing, Engineering/Product Development, and Management.
  • Qualifications:
  • B.S/B.A. degree in a science field with 2-3 years industry experience. Associates degree with 5-6 years industry experience. Individuals with 8+ years Quality Control laboratory testing experience will be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Able to stand and work for long periods of time
Working Conditions
Office environment and occasional exposure to manufacturing plant environment, with some abnormal variations in temperature, unavoidable fumes, noise, dust and atmospheric conditions
