Sharpening Team Lead
We are looking for a Sharpening Team Lead for our American Eagle Instruments facility in Missoula, MT. This position is for our 1st shift, Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm. This position is responsible for completing the functions of a Sharpener, with additional leadership function as outlined below.

Responsibilities
- Attend daily Leadership meetings. Communicate daily work plan and goals to the team and assist supervisor to hold department accountable to reach defined goals.
- Responsible for training of new hires. Helps to define training needs for existing personnel and implement as needed.
- Assist production supervisor in any back order issues
- Assist defining work priorities and communicate to the team
- Work on and promote process improvements and cost reductions
- Assist in follow up on daily/weekly/monthly performance (on time delivery)
- Assist QA in quality control activities.
- Promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Utilize and implement all “Lean Manufacturing” tools (5s, Preventive Maintenance, SMED-Setup reduction.
- Provide written reports as necessary.
- Keep an active line of communication open with Production Supervisors.
- Contributes to team efforts by initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Report to the supervisor on team and individual accomplishments.
- Assist in assessing team weaknesses and strengths
- Help communicate information to employees such as benefits, services and work related activities.
- Resolve simple or informal complaints and refer formal complaints to appropriate supervisor.
- Monitor and report on status of work.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
General computer skills required, experience in Excel a plus!
