Role Overview
We are seeking a talented, self-led, and energetic Operations Manager to join our team. The Operations Manager will provide both tactical execution and project management leadership to critical operations initiatives focused primarily around M&A (i.e. diligence, integration, divestiture, etc.) and organization-wide projects and activities (i.e. strategic capacity increases, facility footprint review and new facility selection, private label bid review, etc). The Operations Manager will play a key, intersectional role which will require strong partnership with the operations leaders/teams across all Young facilities as well as the managers and staff for several cross-functional work areas.
Responsibilities
- Partner with internal corporate development, finance, IT, HR, QRA and operations teams to ensure acquisition diligence and integration are executed smoothly and effectively; this will encompass ‘buy and hold’ and ‘buy and move’ integrations and will include:
- Diligence review
- Integration project planning
- Supply chain and sourcing support/integration
- Manufacturing (IFS) or distribution systems (Numina) integration
- Ensuring proper regulatory fit and appropriate quality measures are set up at each manufacturing location.
- Physical facility moves; inventory transfers to current or sourced sites
- Short-term team and/or contractor management (as needed)
- Provide corporate operations project management leadership and support to organization-wide and/or site-specific operations projects, including but not limited to working with local teams to prioritize work, drive due dates, and ensure execution
- Partner closely with New Product Development, Commercial and Operations teams to provide strategic engineering support across all Young facilities to identify and execute solutions which align with broader company goals.
- Provide assistance and insight to operations and supply chain teams regarding make/buy decisions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of ad hoc process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in operations, engineering and supply chain
- Prior experience in diligence/integration required
- Balanced experience in distribution, manufacturing and engineering strongly preferred; supply chain a plus
- Demonstrated experience successfully scoping, leading, and executing operations projects required
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, supply chain or other related field; MBA a plus
- Ability to partner internally to influence/drive internal partners
- Ability to move quickly while managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong project management skills
- Strong systems knowledge and capability; preference for those with prior knowledge in ERP (IFS), warehouse/distribution systems (Numina), and Microsoft products (expert level Excel and advanced PowerPoint)
- Strong financial acumen with a proven ability to link operations activities to bottom-line financial results
- Experience in a regulated environment, preferably FDA and Medical Devices, with knowledge of ISO 13485 standards, FDA guidelines, current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and European Medical Device Directive
- Ability to travel 50%+
